The latest entry from Out of the Box is a card game,
Apples to Apples, which will
be reviewed in G3 next issue. Out of the Box President
Mark Osterhaus redesigned a game system taken from a
board game concept by Matt Kirby of San Diego. This
wonderful parlor game, originally called Apples and
Oranges, had to be changed when it was discovered that
company in Switzerland did a corporate training simulation
game called Apples and Oranges. Apples
to Apples, uses John Kovalics fun illustrations
in a party game thats as simple
and laugh-provoking as any Ive played in years.
There are no right answers, no right moves, just associations
and each player gets a chance to be a sole judge of
the best link between the theme card of the round and
the cards players throw off hoping for a connection.
Apples to Apples has just been named Party Game of the
Year by Games Magazine.
