The rules for tournaments are the same as those in the regular game with the following exceptions:

1. Use only the titles of movies which were released in theaters, or set specific parameters for that particular tournament, for example: French films.
2. Remove all “Critiques” category cards. They rely on personal opinion and are too subjective for a tournament.
3. Set a time limit for players to provide a title that satisfies both cards, before introducing a third CINEPLEXITY card. One minute is recommended but tournament organizers may adjust it. Players should be informed of the time limit before the game begins.
4. Have a good movie guide on hand, or access to the Internet Movie Database, www.imdb.com, in case the director needs to confirm an answer.
