OFFICIAL RULES
For 2 Players. Ages 10 to adult.
Construction
There are 5 short, 4 medium and 4 long pegs, plus 16 playing pieces (8 dark, 8 light) and 2 spares, one of each color.
Press the 5 short pegs firmly into the row of 5 holes.
Press the 4 medium pegs firmly into the adjacent row.
Press the 4 long pegs firmly into the top row.
Take the 16 playing pieces and thread them, alternating the colors, onto the 4 longest pegs, 4 to each peg. (See the first diagram.)
Players now choose their color for the game.

Object of the Game
To have 3 pieces of your chosen color in the row of 5 indentations beyond the short pegs.

The dark pieces in the example above, fulfill the goal.

The Play
A TURN CONSISTS OF TWO MOVES.
The pieces moved on a turn may be of either or both colors. One player starts by making two moves in succession, followed by the second player making two moves, and so on in turn.
Each move of a turn consists of relocating the uppermost playing piece on a peg, either A) sideways, or B) in certain cases, forward:
  A) SIDEWAYS to an adjacent peg of the same height if there is space to thread it. (EXCEPT that no individual piece-movement may undo the one immediately preceding it.)
  OR -
  B) FORWARD to a lower peg or indentation, along the directions indicated by the graphics on the board. -
BUT ONLY IF, ON ITS CURRENT PEG, THE PIECE IS SITTING AT THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE POSITION (i.e. there is no room on the peg for another piece to be threaded over it.)

Example: Inverting the order of pieces onto the end peg to prepare to move the light piece to the goal.
For the example above, keep in mind the exception mentioned in the sideways movement rule: The light piece, on the first part of the next player's turn, may not be moved back to its previous position.
Once a playing piece reaches the final row it may not move again: Indentation to indentation movement is not allowed.
Backward movements (to higher pegs) are not allowed, except to correct an illegal play.
Note that the last piece played may NOT be moved back to where it came from, irrespective of who moved it last.

Winning
The Winner is the first player to have 3 pieces of their shade in the indentations.

  Enjoy your game!
